Description: The Limes Bed and Breakfast welcome you to the village of Colby, which is set in the heart of the Eden Valley 20 mins from Penrith, the northern gateway to the Lake District. We have the Pennines to the east, Lake District to the west, Howgill Fells and Yorkshire Dales to the south and Hadrians Wall to the north. It is a pretty hamlet 1 12 miles north west of Appleby. You can walk from the house into Appleby across the fields or for the more brave across the stepping stones of the Eden and along the river into the town.We have three lovely centrally heated bedrooms one with king size bed and en-suite, one downstairs king size twin bedded with en-suite and one double single room with private bathroom all with their own TV with Freeview and coffee tea making facilities. Free WiFi available. Penny will serve you with a choice of Full English Breakfast with sausages made by our local butcher and local free range eggs or Continental Breakfast, both with home-made bread and fresh coffee.Tea, Coffee, Cappuccino, Homemade Scones and Cakes can be ordered and enjoyed in one of the many sitting areas in the garden or garden room. Sandwiches and packed lunches are also available on request.For evening meals there are many excellent Country Inns and Restaurants within easy reach of The Limes or you can order Toasted sandwiches or a Ploughmans Lunch from our kitchen.
Directions: Directions M6 from the South Leave the M6 at Junction 38 and take the B6260 to Appleby. Keep on main road through Orton towards Appleby (watch out for sheep on road over fell). On entering outskirts of Appleby pass 30mph sign, take the next left at the end of the green signposted Colby, Colby is 1 12 miles farther on. On entering Colby the road passes over the beck and bears right through the village past the Village Hall on your right, carry on past a telephone box on your right, The Limes is the next house on your right (watch the bend) immediately after the lane down to Colby Hall. From entering Colby to The Limes the distance is 13 mile.Directions M6 from the North and A66 from the West Leave M6 junction 40 and take the A66 towards Brough.andnbsp; Take exit to Appleby and Orton on B6542, left at T junction still following B6542 into Appleby. Follow road into centre of Appleby, take right to town centre B6260 over the river bridge. Follow road through town towards Orton keeping castle wall on left, take 2nd right to Colby. Colby is 1 12 miles farther on.
