Description: The Edwardian Style Crown and Mitre Hotel is situated in the centre of Carlisle, adjacent to Carlisle Cathedral, within easy walking distance of Carlisle Castle and Tullie House Museum and opposite the award winning Lanes Shopping Centre.The hotel offers the comfort of a country Hotel but with the added bonus of being situated in the city centre within easy access of shopping and businesses. Directions: M6 from the south:- Exit at junction 42, take the A6 into the city centre (approximately 2 Miles). Proceed up Botchergate taking the left-hand lane through the traffic Lights at the railway station. When you reach the twin round towers of the Citadel, proceed straight ahead into English Street, taking the left-hand lane (one-way system) to the next traffic lights. Turn left at the lights, then a sharp right into Blackfriars Street (between Chapmans furnishers and Natwest Bank). The hotel car park and rear entrance is at the end of Blackfriars Street, CA3 8HB. There is a bell to the right-hand side of the car park gates. M6 from the north:- Exit at junction 44, take the A7 into the city centre (approximately 1.5 miles). At the Hardwick Circus round about follow the signs for city centre following the one-way system. When you reach the twin round towers of the Citadel, proceed straight ahead into English Street, taking the left-hand lane (one-way system) to the next traffic lights. Turn left at the lights, then a sharp right into Blackfriars Street (between Chapmans furnishers and Natwest Bank). The hotel car park and rear entrance is at the end of Blackfriars Street. There is a bell to the right-hand side of the car park gates. By Rail - Carlisle Railway Station and Citadel Railway Station are both a 5 minute walk away Coach Station - is a 5 minute walk away M6 Motorway Jnc 42,43,44 - 2 miles (15 minutes drive)
